People urged to stay away as firefighters tackle huge blaze
People have been urged to stay away from an area of Derby after a fire at a bungalow sent a huge plume of black smoke across an estate.
Derbyshire Police bosses are urging people not to approach Radford Street, Alvaston, or the surrounding area - and to keep their windows closed due to the incident, DerbyshireLive reports.
A statement from Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Firefighters are currently dealing with a fire at a bungalow and garages on Radford Street in Alvaston.

"All occupants were out of the property on arrival of fire crews. Six fire engines, a command support unit and an aerial ladder platform are in attendance following numerous 999 calls to our control room just after 6pm this evening.
"Due to the large presence of emergency service vehicles, people are asked to avoid the area while the incident is ongoing."
A statement from Derbyshire police said: "Due to a large fire on Radford Street, Alvaston, please ensure all local residents keep their windows closed and to not attend the street or surrounding area."
